قهرمان تیمی شطرنج جهان که هر چهار سال یک مرتبه برگزار میشود این دور با یک سال تاخیر برگزار شد.در این دور از رقابتها تیمهای روسیه٬ارمنستان٬اذربایجان٬امریکا٬ترکیه٬هند٬مصر٬المان٬اسراییل٬یونان و برزیل شرکت کرده بودند که در ۹ دور با هم از سوم تا چهاردهم ژانویه ۲۰۱۰ با هم به رقابت پرداختند که در پایان تیمهای روسیه امریکا و هند به مقامهای اول تا سوم دست پیدا کردند.

در دور اول ارمنستان بر اذربایجان غلبه کرد که شهریار ممدیاروف امتیازی حیاتی از ارمن پاشیکیان گرفت.ترکیه به سختی از امریکا باخت ناکامورا و انوچیک توانستند بر کیوانک و مصطفی غلبه کنند.اما د این دور استاد بین المللی ترکیه امره کان با قربانی زیبای فیل نگاهها را به بازی خود سوق داد.

در دور سوم هند به بازیها برگشت و اذربایجان را با برد در این مسابقه ساسکیریان بر گاشیموف و گانگولی بر لوسینف غلبه کردند(گوپال از ممدیاروف شکست خورد).روسیه بر امریکا غلبه کرد مالاخوف و ویتیوگوف بر شولمن و اکوبیان پیروز شدند.
از نتایج مهم دور چهارم میتوان بر پیروزی روسیه بر اذربایجان اشاره کرد که طی ان گریچوک و مالاخوف از گاشموف و ممدوف امتیاز گرفتند اما موروزوویچ از ممدیاروف شکست خوردند.
